An immigration psychological evaluation is a psychological assessment used to assist immigration courts to determine whether a person will be able to remain lawfully in the United States. An immigration evaluation begins with a discussion with your attorney. If your attorney determines that a psychological evaluation would be beneficial to your immigration case, an appointment is scheduled, and the assessment process begins. At M. Vega Psychology Consultants Inc, we strive to make you feel comfortable throughout the evaluation process. In general, an evaluation consists of a one-to-one interview with a psychologist followed by an administration of psychological tests to assess your current symptoms. The results of the tests are then scored and interpreted. A psychological report is then completed using the results of the tests and the narrative gathered from the interview. Once the report is completed, it is sent confidentially to you or to your attorney.

This is a highly specialized forensic evaluation that is not covered by your medical insurance. Evaluations can range from $800-$1500 depending on the type of report you need. We understand that immigration proceedings can be costly and that your current situation may involve a financial hardship. Yes. Evaluations can be conducted in Spanish. For any other language, interpreting services are available through an outside agency for an additional fee.
